Semiconductor and hardware security veteran brings more than three decades of experience in advanced electronics, programmable logic and security architecture
BENNETTSVILLE, SC, UNITED STATES, August 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Delta Fringe LLC today announced that Steven McNeil, founder of SiTech Consulting LLC, has joined the company’s Strategic Advisory Board.
McNeil brings more than three decades of experience across semiconductor manufacturing, process engineering, device failure analysis, product engineering, integrated-circuit design, FPGA and SoC technology, and hardware security.
Before founding SiTech Consulting, McNeil spent 23 years at Xilinx/AMD in engineering and technical leadership roles spanning programmable logic, semiconductor design and development and secure implementation. He ultimately served as Director of the Security Center of Excellence for FPGAs and SoCs, where his work focused on improving the security and assurance of advanced programmable devices against nation-state-level threats.
“Steve brings a rare combination of deep semiconductor experience and hardware security expertise to Delta Fringe,” said Luke Miller, founder of Delta Fringe. “He understands that security has to be designed into the silicon and the system from the beginning. Whether we’re talking about anti-tamper, side-channel analysis, DPA, or using time itself as a weapon against an adversary, Steve understands both the technology and the mission behind it. That kind of thinking matters when the objective isn’t simply to protect a device, but to create asymmetric advantage for the warfighter. Our Strategic Advisory Board isn’t ceremonial. I want people who will challenge thinking, identify what may be missing, and help make better decisions. Steve brings exactly that kind of experience and judgment.”
Through SiTech Consulting, McNeil advises on security challenges facing the aerospace and defense industry as they relate to advanced electronics, with particular expertise in the security of advanced programmable logic, including FPGAs and SoCs.
McNeil’s appointment is part of Delta Fringe’s formation of a Strategic Advisory Board composed of accomplished leaders whose experience and judgment can help the company challenge assumptions, identify emerging opportunities and connect consequential technology with mission need.
“Delta Fringe operates at an unusual intersection of semiconductors, advanced electronic systems and national defense,” Miller added. “As we continue to grow, I don’t want us surrounded by people who simply agree with us. I want people who have been there, understand the technology, understand the mission and aren’t afraid to tell us what we need to hear.”
Delta Fringe’s philosophy for the board is reflected in Proverbs 15:22:
“Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”
